Custom foot orthotics (CFOs) are commonly recommended to treat foot-specific conditions, such as plantar fasciitis/heel pain, metatarsalgia, and ankle pain. But orthotics are not just for foot pain. Optimizing foot and ankle biomechanics with CFOs often alleviates conditions of the knees, hips, pelvis and back. Custom foot orthotics optimize the functional integrity of the foot and leg by maintaining proper anatomical alignment and controlling abnormal or excessive motion.

Custom orthotics can be an invaluable tool, in combination with chiropractic, soft tissue treatments, and therapeutic exercises, in alleviating various types of pain due to biomechanical imperfections. For the 2011 holiday season Peak Sports Chiropractic partnered with Share-A-Gift, a local non-profit that provides toys for children of low income families in the region of the Boulder Valley School District. The overwhelming generosity of our patients and friends did not go unnoticed. On Thursday December 15^th Dr. Andy delivered a load of toys over the Share-A-Gift headquarters in Boulder. Even better, Andy was given the opportunity to stick around for the first wave of children to pick out a toy or two from a warehouse full holiday goodies.

Seeing the excitement on the kids’ faces not only brought back fond memories of my own childhood holidays, but it gave a striking reminder that not all families in our community are fortunate enough to give or receive gifts during the holiday season. Thanks to the generosity of many individuals like yourselves, a little bit of holiday magic could be provided for an estimated 2000 children.

I'm one well-adjusted child!

Well, the fact that this announcement is almost 8 weeks delayed is a good representation of how busy we’ve been since September 13th.  Nonetheless, Drs. Andy & Jen are excited to announce the arrival Isla Jeanne Harmon.  In case you were wondering, that is pronounced eye-luh.  She was born on 9/13/11  at  7:04am –  8 lbs. 7 oz.  She has her dad’s appetite and is packing on the weight. She’s pushing 11lbs now.  Dr. Jen had a smooth delivery and recovery. She will be returning to the office in full capacity in the coming weeks.  As for Isla, expect to see her in the office from time to time.  She loves meeting new people!
